UCI air quality symposium will mark designation of Rowland Hall as historic landmark

EVENT:  UCI will host a two-day symposium on air quality research and a ceremony in honor of Rowland Hall’s designation as a National Historic Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society. The building was the site of groundbreaking research on chlorofluorocarbons and stratospheric ozone loss by Nobel laureates F. Sherwood Rowland and Mario Molina in 1974 and is a leading atmospheric chemistry research center today.

AirUCI symposium: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 (including Rowland Hall ceremony and reception); 8:30 a.m.-3:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 19; at the Arnold & Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies of Sciences & Engineering, 100 Academy Drive, on campus

Landmark dedication ceremony: 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, Rowland Hall, with parking available in lot 12A (grid G6 on campus map: https://communications.uci.edu/documents/pdf/UCI_16_map_campus_core.pdf)
