Fan-Gang Zeng elected to National Academy of Engineering
Acclaimed researcher recognized for developing better treatments for hearing loss and tinnitus
Fan-Gang Zeng, professor of otolaryngology and biomedical engineering and director of the UCI Center for Hearing Research, has been elected an international member of the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest honors for those in engineering and technical fields.
Zeng is being recognized for developing better treatments for hearing loss and tinnitus and for fostering inclusiveness in the engineering profession. He has won numerous awards and distinctions, and he is a member of Collegium Oto-Rhino-Larygologicum Amicitiae Sacrum and a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, the Acoustical Society of America and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
With this election, UCI is now home to 17 members of the National Academy of Engineering.
