Orange County holds out in red tier as coronavirus case rate climbs

Bernadette Boden-Albala, dean of UC Irvine’s public health program and an expert in social epidemiology, said recently that trouble could be brewing, especially in the face of mingling holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. People are tired of pandemic rules and are letting their guard down, Boden-Albala said, which she predicted would cause an early November uptick in cases over that could kick off a new wave.
