Dr. Dan Cooper, a pediatrician and professor of pediatrics at the University of California–Irvine, says that while children are known not to get as severely ill from COVID-19 as adults, they’re still getting sick, and some are developing long-term symptoms. As a pediatric pulmonologist, Cooper says he’s seen kids suffering from long COVID symptoms that have afflicted adults – namely, fatigue and shortness of breath.
