Federal grant will support six fellows annually for three years in each of two programs: chemical synthesis and mathematics.

UC Irvine is welcoming new students with a week’s worth of fun events and activities, including a midnight “back to school” shopping trip to Target, a chance to break the dodgeball world record, an evening concert in Aldrich Park and a rally in support of the men’s soccer team.

UCI is at the center of the next wave of advanced manufacturing at the Rapid Tech Center, and it shows as federal officials host a related workshop here.

The Sept. 25 effort, which aims to recruit 7,000 participants, will be hosted by Associated Students of UCI.
