Scott Samuelsen, director of UCI’s National Fuel Cell Research Center, was invited to discuss his work with White House officials on Thursday, Nov. 3, as a designated “Champion of Change.” Honorees are selected for their accomplishments in out-innovating, out-educating and out-building the rest of the world. Samuelsen is a professor of mechanical, aerospace and environmental engineering and heads UCI’s Advanced Power & Energy Program. The NFCRC helped launch what the Department of Energy dubbed “the fuel station of the future,” a Fountain Valley facility that turns sewage into power for clean cars.
