UC Irvine News Brief: UCI publication named official journal of national EM group
Sponsorship by the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians is expected to raise the visibility of the Department of Emergency Medicine’s “WestJEM.”
The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians has selected the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine – published by UCI’s Department of Emergency Medicine – as its official journal. With more than 3,000 members and 45 residency programs, ACOEP is the largest national organization for osteopathic emergency medicine physicians, residents and students. Its sponsorship is expected to enhance the visibility of WestJEM and further its mission to unite allopathic and osteopathic EM practitioners through the clinical challenges they face each day. “We have worked tirelessly to advance the journal since its 2007 inception, and this is a momentous step forward,” said Dr. Mark Langdorf, chair of emergency medicine at UCI and editor in chief of WestJEM.
