Branson will discuss his efforts to connect people who are committed to tackling tough environmental and social problems in an entrepreneurial manner through Virgin Unite, the nonprofit foundation of the Virgin Group. Supported by a growing cadre of staff, customers, suppliers and others, Virgin Unite aims to revolutionize the way business, government and the private sector work together as a force for good.

Branson’s appearance is part of the Living Peace Series sponsored by UCI and The Center for Living Peace, Orange County. The series features high-profile speakers from around the globe who are committed to making the world a healthier, more sustainable and more compassionate place. Oscar-winning actor Charlize Theron kicked off the series in December with a program about her Africa Outreach initiative to combat HIV/AIDS. His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama will conclude the series with his appearance Wednesday, May 4, with a dialogue about global and ethical leadership, personal responsibility and compassion.

Founded by Newport Beach philanthropist Kelly Smith on the belief that “good happens,” the Center for Living Peace Orange County provides a place where children, families and adults of all ages can connect to self, spirit, others and the world and feel inspired to make a difference.
