The passenger transportation industry is in flux because of rising fuel prices and economic uncertainty. Consumers are struggling with extra airline fees and longer work commutes. Brueckner’s lecture will address these issues and other timely transportation topics.

Brueckner earned his doctorate at Stanford University. His research interests include urban economics, public economics, industrial organization and housing finance. He is a member of UCI’s Institute of Transportation Studies and the Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Economics. Brueckner served as the editor of the Journal of Urban Economics from 1991 to 2007.
