Jay Lickfett, lead software engineer for UC Irvine’s RESCUE Consortium received a Platinum Award from the California Emergency Services Association for for creating a disaster Web portal in cooperation with the Ontario, California Fire Department. The RESCUE team works to help responding organizations better gather, manage, use and disseminate information within emergency response networks and to the general public. The disaster Web portal is a computer application that provides residents, agencies and members of the media real-time access to emergency information. The Platinum Award is CESA’s highest honor and recognizes excellence in emergency management through exemplary programs or individual achievement.
