Anteaters Junior Bryan Petersen made the College World Series All-Tournament team. One of three all-tournament outfielders, Petersen batted .533 in four CWS games and led the Anteaters to a 2-2 record in the tournament with eight hits, including a double and a triple. He joins six Oregon State players, three North Carolina players and one Rice player in the honor. Petersen was UCI’s highest draft pick this season, a fourth-round selection by the Florida Marlins. He finished the season with a .323 overall average and totaled 73 hits and 38 RBI. Petersen totaled 27 stolen bases to finish second in the UCI season records. The Anteaters ended a historic season with the highest number of wins in the program’s Division I history at 47-17-1.
