Growth that makes a difference

From its humble beginnings with 1,589 students on a partially completed campus in 1965, UCI has steadily grown and is recognized today as one of the top 10 public universities in the nation. Today, it enrolls more than 36,000 students, employs more than 27,000 people and, with UCI Health, is part of the only academic health system in Orange County.

Beyond physical expansion on and off the campus, UCI continues to grow and develop in key areas. The following are some highlights of UCI’s ongoing commitment to strategically expanding our capability to improve lives.
