World-class faculty are integral to UCI once again earning its standing as one of the best universities in the country.
UCI’s brilliant faculty routinely receive awards and honors for their discoveries. Among the illustrious group of faculty who have called UCI home are three Nobel Prize winners and individuals whose work led to the discovery of the detrimental impact of chlorofluorocarbons on the ozone layer as well as exploration of the use of mRNA as a potential vaccine platform, the foundation of today’s COVID-19 vaccines.
