2022 Year in Review – Leading initiatives
A year of groundbreaking growth and accomplishments
UCI’s priorities and initiatives remain in place as opportunities for learning and reflection on an Anteater’s place in the global community. With major initiatives that emphasize sustainability as well as diversity, equity and inclusion on campus, UCI continues to foster a first-rate environment for human-centered success. For example, the university is expanding its opportunities for Jewish studies – from expanding the Center for Jewish Studies to hosting a traveling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
In 2022, UCI also earned designation as a Fulbright Hispanic-Serving Institution Leader for the second year in a row. In addition, the university became a founding member of the new Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities.
And in a campuswide interdisciplinary endeavor this year, UCI launched the Institute for Precision Health, which brings a multifaceted, integrated approach to healthcare.
