As COVID-19 cases rise, no new mandates likely in OC
Orange County was averaging about 33 new cases a day for every 100,000 residents, as of Friday, and about 18% of tests taken were coming back positive. … The test positivity rate has risen by several percentage points over the last three weeks, and there were at least 46 deaths related to COVID-19 last month, UC Irvine epidemiologist [and associate public health professor] Andrew Noymer said. “That’s a lot for a respiratory disease in June, even as large as the county is.”
