The UCI Commencement Celebration at Angel Stadium of Anaheim was UCI’s first all-campus commencement since 2014, when President Barack Obama spoke to excited Anteater students, families and supporters at the stadium. More than 4,500 graduating students attended with their friends and families. Yusef Salaam – one of the “exonerated five,” a group of teens wrongly convicted in the 1989 Central Park jogger case – was the featured speaker. UCI also hosted individual on-campus commencement events June 10-13 for each of its academic schools, at which diplomas were conferred. These events were held in the Bren Events Center.   • Students receiving bachelor’s degrees: 8,383, with Social Sciences accounting for more than 26 percent
  • Master’s degrees: 871
  • Doctoral degrees: 413
  • Law degrees: 143
  • Medical degrees: 92
  • Community college transfer students earning bachelor’s degrees: 2,601
  • Federal Pell Grant recipients earning bachelor’s degrees: 3,454
  • 43 percent of undergraduates receiving bachelor’s degrees are first-generation college students
  • UCI granted bachelor’s degrees to 1,921 Latinos
