Orange County’s COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations inch down

It is difficult to determine if the county has reached its floor for hospitalizations. “It’s been bouncing around 130 for a few days now,” said Andrew Noymer, an epidemiologist and UC Irvine [associate] professor of [public health]. “I wouldn’t rule out that it could decline further, but I won’t commit to that. It’s like reaching for an Ouija board at this point.” Noymer said he still advises residents to keep masking indoors.
