The campuses were heavily influenced by Omicron modeling studies at UCSD
As the day went along, six other UC campuses — including UCLA, Irvine and Santa Cruz — announced that they’ll do the same, to varying degrees, a chain reaction that underscored the university’s concern about the new COVID-19 variant. The campuses were heavily influenced by Omicron infection models produced in recent days by researchers at UCSD. The studies show that the variant will surge through California in early January.
