State Officials to Address Potential Blue Shield Vaccine Distribution Inequities

Bernadette Boden-Albala, founding dean of the public health program at UC Irvine, said it’s time for the health insurance giant and state officials to be more transparent about the distribution takeover. “Blue Shield, Orange County wants to know: what’s your process? You need to be transparent. We have people in need, we have communities of color who are at high risk. We want to know what you’re going to do about this and who are your providers? We need that information and they need to let us know,” Boden-Albala said in a Thursday phone interview.
