Andrew Noymer, an associate professor of public health at UC Irvine, said it’s troubling the Riverside woman was able to obtain one of the extra doses at Redlands Community due to a family connection. Hospitals, he said, have a duty to ensure vaccines are administered appropriately and equitably. “It doesn’t pass the smell test,” Noymer said. “Nurses, technicians, janitors and orderlies need to be vaccinated before some random community member.”
