UC Irvine Researchers exploring using Blu ray diodes to combat COVID19
From playing your favorite DVD movies to zapping the coronavirus, University of California, Irvine physicists are researching the use of diodes from Blu-ray devices as a laser light source for ultraviolet contamination applications, which include everything from masks to units installed in air conditioning ducts. Spectrum News One’s Jo Kwon spoke with UCI physics professor Chris Barty to get an update on the project.
