Coronavirus: ‘More tests now!’ And here, perhaps, is how

The Orange County Health Care Agency has been talking with researchers at UC Irvine since February about how best to answer the question, “How many people here have been infected with COVID-19?” They’ve put together what may be the most rigorous and comprehensive surveillance serology testing effort to date in California. Over the next several weeks, researchers will examine the blood of 5,000 residents for antibodies to the virus to better understand how widespread the disease has become.
