HEALTHCARE . UCI Medical Center in Orange will be one of three Calif. sites for clinical trials of a drug to treat the coronavirus. Gilead Sciences in San Dimas makes remdesivir, originally developed to treat the Ebola outbreak and now thought to hold promise for COVID-19. The FDA and White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci have said publicly the drug could be helpful.
