Unraveling a coronavirus mystery: Stomach bug can be sign of infection
“The delayed diagnosis,” said the case study published March 24 in the American Journal of Nephrology, “was likely because it was not recognized by the treating centers that gastrointestinal manifestation may be a part of COVID-19 infection.” … The man, whose family agreed to share the details of his case to educate others, was in critical condition, said one of the report’s 20 authors, Kam Kalantar-Zadeh, a specialist in internal medicine, nephrology and pediatrics at UCI who also is an adjunct professor of epidemiology at UCLA.
