At UCI Medical Center in Orange, the evolving CDC guidelines on coronavirus has meant regular updating of contact and screening protocols, said John Murray, UCI Health system public information officer. Murray said the medical center’s Epidemiology and Infection Prevention team created a series of detailed checklists for staff and physicians on disease screening, how to minimize exposure to others by properly isolating patients, how to protect themselves through the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and how to manage the movement of a COVID-19 patient within the health system.
