Webinar to detail findings of recent Metropolitan Futures Initiative reports

EVENT: University of California, Irvine’s School of Social Ecology will host a webinar on the latest quarterly reports issued through its Metropolitan Futures Initiative: Detecting Job Density Over Time and Understanding Business Churning Dynamics & Their Spatial Variation. The interdisciplinary MFI research team will provide further insight on the findings and answer questions.

HIGHLIGHTS: The most recent reports show that the majority of jobs and job growth continue to exist outside traditional downtown venues and that employment surges and declines – known as business churning – positively impact some areas and negatively affect others.

BACKGROUND:  MFI quarterly reports present cutting-edge research on different aspects of Southern California and consequences for neighborhoods in the region. They focus on issues of interest to the public as well as policymakers.
