Oladele Ogunseitan joins UCGHI board of directors
Oladele Ogunseitan, professor and chair of public health, has joined the UC Global Health Institute’s board of directors as UC Irvine representative. He replaces Dr. Sheldon Greenfield, who has served on the board since UCGHI’s founding. Joining Ogunseitan on the board is Kim Wilcox, Chancellor of UC Riverside. Ogunseitan studies disease associated with pollution and industrial development projects. His research in industrial ecology focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to environmentally benign product design and life-cycle assessment of materials that affect human health and the environment. The institute was launched in 2009 as a UC system-wide global health initiative. It grants annual awards to faculty and post docs to support research and educational and partnership activities.
