UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts, represented by Dean Joseph S. Lewis III, won one of 12 Community Awards from Coast Magazine at a Feb. 3 event feting 48 finalists for their contributions to Orange County and the local economy. “We are truly honored and humbled by the community’s recognition of our efforts,” Lewis said. He credited his department chairs: David Trend (art), Lisa Naugle (dance), Daniel Gary Busby (drama) and David Brodbeck (music). “The evening was a wonderful opportunity to gather and celebrate Orange County’s most generous community service and philanthropic heroes in one room,” said Jeff Ditmire, publisher for the Orange County Register‘s magazine group, which includes Coast. The Claire Trevor School of the Arts and fellow honorees each received a one-of-a-kind award commissioned from internationally renowned sculptor Chris Schulz.
