Group wins award for international student outreach
UC Irvine’s Student Life & Leadership staff has received a bronze award of excellence from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators for the unit’s International Student Transitions Workgroup.
UC Irvine’s Student Life & Leadership and Division of Undergraduate Education staff members have received a bronze award of excellence from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators for the International Student Transitions Workgroup. The award is in the category of international, multicultural, cultural, gender, LGBTQ, spirituality, disability and related. The work group is dedicated to the retention and academic and personal advancement of international students and is headed by Rameen Talesh (pictured left), assistant vice chancellor for Student Life & Leadership, and Zahra Ahmed (pictured right), director of civic & community engagement. Recipients will be honored in March at the 2014 NASPA annual conference in Baltimore. NASPA supports student affairs professionals in higher education.
