Sergey Nizkorodov, UC Irvine chemistry professor, has been honored with an award that recognizes exceptional mid-career atmospheric and climate scientists who demonstrate excellence in research and leadership. The Atmospheric Sciences Ascent Award is conferred by the American Geophysical Union.  “I’m really honored.” Nizkorodov said. “I got involved in atmospheric chemistry research relatively late in my career. This award is a good sign that I am on the right track.” Nizkorodov investigates chemical composition, photochemistry, and physical properties of organic aerosols using modern analytical methods. He will receive his award at AGU’s fall meeting.
