Hans Keirstead of the Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center will be among a notable group of innovators, designers, educators, technologists and socially concerned leaders who will speak at the 2012 TEDxOrangeCoast on Wednesday, Oct. 10. One of the world’s foremost stem cell researchers, Keirstead has pioneered several stem cell-based medical techniques and policies, and his lab created the treatment that led to the world’s first clinical trial using human embryonic stem cells to treat spinal cord injury. At TEDxOrangeCoast, he will highlight what it takes to successfully translate stem cell discoveries into therapeutic reality. TEDxOrangeCoast will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
