Pacific Breast Care, Dr. Alice Police strengthen women’s health services with UC Irvine affiliation
Orange County’s preeminent breast health center joins forces with UC Irvine, which will provide access to comprehensive cancer center and clinical trials.
Surgical oncologist Dr. Alice Police, medical director of Pacific Breast Care in Costa Mesa, has strengthened her commitment to top-quality breast health screening and treatment in Orange County through an affiliation with UC Irvine Healthcare.
“I am pleased to say that we will continue to provide the personalized care our patients have come to expect, now combined with the resources of a world-class university,” Police said. “It’s the best of both worlds.”
Police’s patients will have access to the latest therapies and clinical trials through UC Irvine’s Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only 40 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation and the only one in Orange County.
Pacific Breast Care has treated thousands of Orange County women, offering such services as breast health screening and diagnostic mammography, ultrasound and MRI; stereotactic and ultrasound- and MRI-guided needle biopsy; and breast cancer surgery. Patients needing surgery will still be able to choose from among several Orange County hospitals.

Police becomes an assistant professor in the UCI School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery and will continue seeing patients in Pacific Breast Care’s office at 1640 Newport Blvd., Suite 200, in Costa Mesa.
“Dr. Police is an excellent surgeon and a tireless advocate for improving women’s health,” said Dr. Michael J. Stamos, chair of UCI’s Department of Surgery. “We’re thrilled to have her join our faculty.”
Combining forces with UC Irvine demonstrates a long-term commitment to breast care in Orange County, Police said.
“My philosophy remains the same: treat the person, not just the problem, and offer preventative as well as diagnostic and ongoing treatment for breast health issues,” she said.
