UC Irvine and UC San Diego received a gold 2010 Larry L. Sautter Award for its multicampus online faculty recruitment tool. Developed at UCI by a team in the Office of Information Technology, the program enabled faculty candidates to abandon the cumbersome paper application process for an online program that allowed UCI departments to monitor the progress of applications. A subsequent collaboration between UCI and UCSD took the process to the multicampus level. UCI was among 10 Sautter winners announced July 19 at the UC Computing Services Conference in Los Angeles. Sponsored by the UC Information Technology Leadership Council, the awards recognize IT innovations that advance the university’s mission of teaching, research, public service and patient care or that improve the effectiveness of business or administrative practices.
