UC Irvine News Brief: Jasper Vrugt wins award for contributions to hydrology modeling
Young Scientist Award from the European Geosciences Union will be bestowed at the May EGU meeting.
Jasper Vrugt, faculty member of the UC Irvine Environment Institute: Global Change, Energy, and Sustainable Resources and civil engineering assistant professor, has received the 2010 Outstanding Young Scientist Award from the European Geosciences Union. Vrugt will be honored at the May EGU meeting in Vienna for his outstanding contributions to model development, calibration, diagnostics and improvement. Making hydrological predictions in the context of global change is one of the biggest challenges the facing hydrologists today. Vrugt’s research addresses these challenges.
