UC Irvine News Brief: Henry Pontell

Henry Pontell, professor of sociology and criminology, law & society, has been named Green Honors Chair at Texas Christian University. Established in 1969 by Cecil H. and Ida Green, the endowed award brings to the campus nationally known visiting scholars, scientists and writers. Former honorees include Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Carl Bernstein and former “CBS Evening News” anchor Dan Rather. Pontell visited the Fort Worth campus March 29 and 30 to make several presentations to students and faculty and deliver a universitywide lecture entitled “Global Meltdown: Fraud in Financial Crises.”
