UC Irvine’s Health Education Center has received a $375,000 U.S. Department of Education grant to form a statewide consortium of higher-education institutions committed to decreasing underage alcohol use and binge drinking among college students. The California Coalition for Safer Universities will sponsor two training events targeting needs identified by a core planning group, provide 30 mini-grants to participant institutions, and create new opportunities for sharing best practices and mentoring. CCSU will host its first event Dec. 8 and 9 at UCI.
