Allergan climate
UC Irvine Earth system scientists Michael Prather and Diane Pataki will speak on “Climate Is Changing Globally. Dare We Act Locally?” as part of the Allergan Foundation Lecture Series in Modern Biology.
Over the last two centuries, people have mined and burned fossil fuels, cleared forests, and developed agriculture and industry. The resultant pollution of the Earth’s atmosphere is driving climate change.
The Allergan Foundation funds this lecture series. Allergan Inc. is an Irvine-based healthcare company providing eye care and specialty pharmaceutical products worldwide. The series is designed to educate people about biological advances that one day may affect their lives.
