The Anteaters paid a spirited visit to patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County Jan. 29, the first in a series of visits scheduled this year. “Our visit was really eye-opening and gave us all a perspective on what’s really important in life,” said senior Ben Orloff. “I will never forget the kids we were lucky enough to meet. It was an experience I will take with me the rest of my life.” A strategic affiliation among CHOC Children’s, UC Irvine Healthcare and UC Irvine School of Medicine took effect Jan. 1 to better serve children and families. The baseball team visits are one more example of the blending of Anteater and CHOCO bear cultures. (From left, Anteaters Jeff Cusick, Tyler Hoechlin and DJ Crumlich visit with CHOC patient.
