Gabor Madl (pictured left), a computer science doctoral student at UC Irvine, received the prestigious 2008 Frank Anger Memorial Award at the Embedded Systems Week Conference in Salzburg, Austria. This award, given jointly by the Association for Computing Machinery’s special interest groups on software engineering and embedded systems, recognizes one student researcher from each of these societies who promotes the crossover of ideas between the embedded software and software engineering research communities. Madl is a member of computer science professor Nikil Dutt’s research group that studies embedded computer systems.
