Middle school affiliated with UCI's MESA program heading to national competition

For the second year in a row, Roosevelt Middle School in Compton will represent California in the MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition. Roosevelt is affiliated with UC Irvine’s MESA program. MESA, which stands for Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, works with educationally disadvantaged students interested in those academic areas. The Roosevelt team advances to the national competition June 23 after placing first in preliminary, regional and state competitions.
