Survey: Californians open to water restrictions during drought
According to UC Irvine urban planning expert [Professor] David Feldman, recycled waste water needs to be higher on the state’s agenda. “I totally get why people would say, initially, yuck,” he said. But, Feldman has had a glass of treated wastewater and said it is good. Also, the professor said water agencies need to collaborate and invest in other methods of storing water. “Let’s begin to take measures in terms of land use and rainwater capture so that we are able to literally save that water for a non-rainy day,” said Feldman.

Covid forever? The walking wounded in Orange County
The good news, though long overdue in OC, is that finally recognition and help is on the way from Orange County’s UCI Medical Center, which has established two pilot satellite clinics, one in Tustin and one in Costa Mesa, to specifically attract, document, and treat Long COVID patients within the county with a multidisciplinary approach that can address the many simultaneous symptoms a patient may present with.

Doulas Hope to Regain Momentum as Covid Restrictions EaseSarah Hoenicke Flores, a UCI grad student in comparative literature writes, “Since the beginning of the pandemic, advocacy groups have fought for the continued inclusion of doulas in the birth process because research shows their presence can reduce many of the negative impacts for women of color. … Doulas are labor and delivery partners who spend time getting to know their clients’ specific needs and helping them construct their birth plans. Rams prepared for the pressure as training camp opens at UC Irvine
The Rams’ quest for a 3rd NFC West division title since moving back to Los Angeles starts now as training camp kicks off in Irvine. Preparation is key during the early stages of training camp, which opened Wednesday afternoon at University of California, Irvine. … Veteran Andrew Whitworth provided some insight on the benefits of training camp. … The ability to isolate yourself from the outside world in training camp and just focus on the team is a big help to start the season, Whitworth says.
