UC Irvine named command post for new systemwide free speech center
UC Irvine will oversee the University of California’s new center to promote free speech and civic engagement …. If the world builds every coal plant that’s planned, climate change goals are doomed, scientists say
“There is a real risk that the inertia of fossil fuel infrastructure will drag us past where we want to be,” said Steven Davis, an energy researcher at the University of California at Irvine, in a comment on the study. “However, the retirement of power plants is ultimately an economic decision, and one that gets easier as non-fossil energy sources get cheaper,” Davis added.
