Dr. Paul Rosenblit, UC Irvine clinical professor of medicine, was elected president of the Pacific Lipid Association at the National Lipid Association‘s annual scientific sessions, held May 1–4 in Orlando, Fla. As a regional chapter of the NLA, the PLA is a medical education society for healthcare professionals who work in the areas of lipid management and preventive cardiology. Rosenblit completed his internship and residency in medicine at the Atlantic City Medical Center and received postgraduate training in endocrinology and metabolism at UCLA. He’s a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists; professional sections of the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society; and the Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology. He is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and the NLA and a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. The NLA’s public health mission is to help reduce deaths related to high cholesterol.
