UCI is again ranked among the nation’s top 50 universities in U.S. News & World Report‘s 2012 edition of “Best Colleges,” released today. The evaluation, which includes such factors as faculty resources, student selectivity, graduation rates and class sizes, placed UCI 45th among public and private universities and 13th among public universities alone. UCI scored high in the categories of student selectivity, freshman retention and graduation rates but also in percentage of classes with more than 50 students. The magazine also ranked engineering schools, placing UCI’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering 42nd nationwide among those conferring doctoral degrees.
