UC Irvine is ranked sixth among the nation’s public universities in Forbes’ latest top 25 rankings.

The magazine’s determination is based on alumni salaries, academic outcomes and return on investment of students’ tuition dollars – all areas in which UC Irvine excels.

Its sixth-place finish further demonstrates the university’s success in achieving its mission to catalyze the community and enhance lives through rigorous academics.

UC Irvine was specifically lauded for its efforts to provide opportunities for all students. In fact, the campus’s 37 percent rate of graduates receiving Pell Grants – federal financial aid provided to students from low-income households – was the highest among the top 25 public institutions.

The Forbes list comes on the heels of recently released rankings from the Princeton Review in which UC Irvine earned the No. 4 spot among public universities for “Best Value College.”
