The Anteater work ethic is widely recognized, earning the campus a number of gifts and grants to support its priorities. A generous donation from Susan and Henry Samueli is going toward a Center for Jewish Studies in accordance with UCI’s initiative to combat antisemitism; a NASA grant is underpinning a UCI-led project to remotely monitor coastal topography to improve understanding of flood risk; and a significant gift from Joe C. Wen and his family is funding a new UCI Health Center for Advanced Care. This has also been UCI’s second-highest year for fundraising, with more than $223 million collected. The Brilliant Future campaign, which supports scholarships, research, educational facilities and other initiatives, alone topped $1.3 billion from over 86,000 donors.
