OC COVID-19 hospitalizations tick down, 4 more deaths recorded

Andrew Noymer, an epidemiologist and UC Irvine associate professor [of public health], said Monday it’s only a matter of time before omicron has an impact on the county’s infection rates. “The situation right now is still stable in Orange County,” Noymer said. “Two hundred (patients) is kind of our equilibrium for hospitalizations. But it’s going to go up before it goes down again because this national omicron wave is not going to leave us unscathed. It’s only a matter of time before that arrives on our shores.”
