In an email, Ditto told The Daily Beast sites devoted to effectively cataloguing dead anti-vaxxers are “using a strategy that is deeply intuitive, but of questionable effectiveness.” Among other things, he and his colleagues point to “empathy gaps” psychologists have identified over the years when people attempt to persuade others to make good health decisions.
