KPFK – Background Briefing with Ian Masters, June 15, 2021 (Audio)
With 600,000 deaths by COVID in the U.S., deadlier strains are on the horizon
Andrew Noymer, UCI associate professor of population health and disease prevention speaks with host Ian Masters about COVID-19. [Noymer said], “We need to get vaccination rates even higher. … The vaccine is our best weapon but the reason for the reduction in deaths, is because of the reduction in cases and the reduction in cases is due to two things, the vaccine and also the fact that the COVID epidemiology is becoming more like a seasonal phenomenon now. .. I would encourage people who are not vaccinated to get vaccinated.”
