Orange County still has a way to go, with about 1.4 million residents fully vaccinated, but UC Irvine epidemiologist, [Associate Professor], Andrew Noymer said public health experts’ hope is to see every adult get a vaccine to keep future COVID-19 outbreaks to a minimum. “The rub here is that people feel like the pandemic is over because we’re in a very good period,” Noymer said, but “COVID is not going to vanish and just be gone.”
